(a)
Before SNUsacc loan we go to market for daily wages. Gave birth to small girl
left her in home for whole day – disabled. Buy rice. We were poor[est] of the
poor so no one in the area would give us a loan. Would not have been able to
meet the % payments to cover loans.
(b)
Now with business, those richer people who not provide us loans now say to
us if you want a loan, come see us. Richer people support my business and
now we have respect. They see my business. [Previously] no one give her a
loan felt doubt - society normally looks for rich people, now treat me
different. Community see her get richer so people want to be near her.
Previously life was hand to mouth. Now when she wants loan has confidence
she can repay her loan.

Before 5 years ago SNUsacc loan, we are poor family. We can’t get loan from
other people previously, they did not give. 5 years ago take a loan from
cooperative but richer people previously not give loan. Now ask me if I wish
for loan. We are their friends now. [Previously] could not help others but now
can help poorest family friendly. I wish to do society work.

Now we are offered roles to work. [For example] sister and her work for
SNUsacc. Sister paid [for her work] hers voluntary but very good work
experience. Currently they are getting ready for AGM [1

no responsibility in society. More responsibility you get after taking out loans.
Now have different status, so when we ask for loan now, we [receive loan].

group. First off neighbours not interested in group.
Now successful neighbours ask can you involve us in your group. Would like to sit
down in my home to discuss. The main changes are how we are now treated. We
now can start a savings account for our child in cooperative. This is for health
purposes if needed.

Yes the cooperative trusts her already and the community trust her. Ask her
for help. Considering starting a restaurant respected.

She feels proud. She purchased new bicycle for her son from the profits from
the shop.

Yes community treat him better. Community trusts his family. Now easy to
get a loan from cooperative.
