From an observational perspective what was clearly evident throughout my fieldwork was
families working together to improve their lives and provide opportunities for their children, food,
education and reserves for health needs when necessary. As Ramchandra KC pointed out, ‘only
women can take out loans from SNUsacc but husbands involved in the process and benefits.

We run business together so no need to give him an amount from income. Her
husband’s says once we have paid back the loan and we are clear he will invest in
other places. We have mutual discussion and respect.
