Kira Kay, present during April 25th earthquake (with 20 years of collaborative work with Nepali communities building Schools, Children Homes, Health posts and extensive organic agriculture programs) talks about the destructive impact of the 7.8 earthquake and how we can all help in Nepal. Kira Kay’s vision to support eco sustainable housing was under development before the earthquake hit, inspired by Nripal Adhikary, the founder of ABARI. Today the visionary construction design company ABARI is taking a lead role in sustainably rebuilding in Nepal's remote mountain regions through Community Driven Reconstruction using local resources and salvageable materials. Friends of India and ORGANIC INDIA are supporting donations to #TentsToNepal to supply materials for on the ground collaboration with ABARI & Learning Planet. The film shows where donations are most needed in supporting the people of Nepal to rebuild their country and their livelihoods with a sense of empowerment dignity and integrity. Join with us to make a difference. Donations can be made the following way: #TentsToNepal via http://www.crowdrise.com/TentstoNepal/fundraiser/organicindia Kira Kay's initiative: Hands-with-Hands www.handswithhands.com via Paypal & direct bank transfer To learn more about how donations are being put to use please see the #LoveInAction blog documenting the ongoing collaborative efforts of #TentsToNepal http://organicindiausa.com/love-in-action/ ABARI's open source Transitional Shelter Guide to promote Owner & Community Driven Reconstructionis available here http://abari.org/how-to-build-transitional-shelter See also: Learning Planet http://www.learningplanet.org/uk
